Made from powder-coated aluminum to prevent rust, they are durable and designed to withstand pool environments. These hoists primarily support sling transfers and typically have a lifespan of 10 to 15 years for the track and 5 to 10 years for the hoist itself.
Gaining popularity due to their flexibility, mobile pool hoists do not require installation and can be moved to the poolside as needed. However, they do take up considerable floor space, so storage must be factored in. This option is one of the few that allows for independent use by students. If stored properly away from the poolside, mobile hoists can have a longer lifespan compared to fixed options.

When budgeting for a pool hoist, two main factors should be considered: the cost of the equipment itself and the cost of labor for installation. Below are the approximate costs for each option, including installation and setup:
