Types of Stand Aids and Transfer Aids

There are a few main types of stand aids to consider. Active standing aids, also called sit to stand aids, raise a user from sitting to standing and support short, supervised transfers, such as the Oxford Up Active Stand Aid and the Sara Stedy. A sit to stand transfer aid or turning aid helps a user pivot between two nearby seats. Servicing, Maintenance and LOLER Inspections

Powered standing aids and stand aid hoists are classed as lifting equipment, so they should be serviced every year and undergo a LOLER examination every six months, alongside daily pre-use checks by carers.
